Howdy! (I started to say, "Merry Meet." Read here as to why I didn't...)
Welcome to CSM of the Greater Pee Dee and all parts nearby,
where the swell meet for spells. Or maybe
just to sit a spell. Whether you're here to discuss the deeper meanings
and spiritual mysteries
of Life, The Universe, and Everything, or you're
here to trade spells and recipes (and we DO love the kitchen witches, don't
we?), or you're just here to meet people and not be judged (within limits - after
all, you have to be dead to be a saint,  and none of us are there yet. Or, at
least, not at the moment <g>), YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!

Now you may be wondering, "Why's it called Circle of the Sacred Mountains?"
Well, pretty much every belief system on the face of the Earth includes at
least one sacred mount - Fuji, Glastonbury Tor, Shasta, Sinai, and so on. Sure
as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti, even faiths
created for fiction, like the Vulcan Kohlinahr in Star Trek, get into this:
"Jim, climb the steps of Mt. Selaya!" Mountains are a symbol of ancient earth,
of power and dignity, and they're really, really cool.

BUT, that's not the entire reason. I mentioned the Vulcans - you see that
neato symbol the moon turned into in the animation above? That's called the
I.D.I.C. - Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations. It's something Star Trek's
creator came up with to sell medallions, but it means something awesome,
anyway. It means that there is value in all of the many-splendored ways
that God(dess) shows Hirself to us everywhere (gotta love multigender
pronouns <g>) and that. beyond simply tolerating our differences,
we must learn to embrace them. And THAT is the most important thing
about the mountains - when you're feeling like you're superior, that
you've figured it ALL out, YOU NEED TO COME DOWN OFF THAT
MOUNTAIN! And start climbing someone else's. For it is only in understanding
each other that we grow as people, and that mankind has hope of a future.

The Lord

The Explorer and Protector -
the masculine aspect of God(dess)
is in every one of us. He makes us
bold, to push forward into new
frontiers, protects the family,
and occasionally gets out of control
and destructive. Still, when guided
by honor, a pretty decent Guy.

The old image disappeared from
both the server AND my machine,
so this one is replacing him.
I don't really know who this guy is,
above, but he's cool. Soon, clicking
on him will lead to a gallery of
images of The Lord as envisioned
by members of the CSM.

In other words, send me a picture
of how you "see" Him. ;-)

The Lady

The Creator and Nurturer -
the feminine aspect of God(dess)
is in every one of us. She inspires
us, loves us as a mother, guards
the house, and makes it a home.

I have chosen Diana of Themyscira
as my representation of The Lady,
for right now, mostly because I'm a
big comic book geek, but in part
because I feel that modern pop
fiction is kindred to the Legends
of Yore. Soon, clicking on Her will
lead to a gallery of images of The
Lady as envisioned by members
of the CSM.

In other words, send me a picture
of how you "see" Her. ;-)
